  • The center is a composite core made of carbon fiber and glass fiber, the outside is soft layers of soft annealed (1350-0) trapezoidal aluminum fibers.

CABLE CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Permitted continuous operating temperature is up to 180°C. In emergency conditions can operate up to °C (10,000 hours) Advantages:
  • ACCC® Loads 2 times more current than traditional conductors (ACSR). The lighter core allows for an increase of 28% more aluminum while retaining the same weight as the traditional wire • Under balanced load conditions it is possible to reduce line losses by 25 to 40% compared with conductors of the same diameter and weight.
  • Better force resistance, self-damping and high fatigue resistance allow to increase the length of the pillar space, reducing the number of towers used
  • Composite core is lighter than steel core (only about 24% compared to steel core)
  • Lower deflection due to small coefficient of thermal expansion of composite core (only 14% compared to steel core)

USE:

  • ACCC conductors are used for overhead power transmission and distribution lines because they are especially useful in line reclamation applications with the requirement of increasing current capacity with existing tension and electrical safety distance, New line applications where the cylindri- cal structure can be optimized due to reduced wire deflection, for high emergency load requirements, where due to vibration caused by wind problems, they can also be used at field due to its good corrosion resistance.
