Information about the project
The project is invested by Hau Giang Biomass Energy Joint Stock Company (HBE), with the goal of investing, developing, constructing and operating, first of all the Bioelectric Power Plant. Hau Giang has an installed capacity of 20MW.
When put into operation, Hau Giang Biomass Power Plant will be the first biomass power plant using rice husk fuel to come into operation in Vietnam.
Location: provincial road 930, Area 5, Thuan An ward, Long My town, Hau Giang province (next to the confluence of Nuoc Duc river and Cai Ban canal).
With an area of more than 10 hectares, including the power plant area, factory connection road, operation management area and expansion reserve area.
Usable water surface area: about 0.55 hectares.
Project meaning
– Regarding energy security: contributing to ensuring energy supply for the region, taking advantage of the existing resources and infrastructure of Hau Giang province.
– Economically: contributing to promoting the development of biomass fuel collection, transportation, and preliminary processing networks; attract more investment capital to develop renewable energy both domestically and internationally.
– Social aspect: helps increase income for people in the area.
– Regarding the environment: contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, taking advantage of agricultural waste as input fuel for electricity production according to the circular economy model and sustainable development.
